SLJ : Make a Splash – Kick Start

Today’s Kick start was to make an water obstacle, We got to make it on Google drawings, Canva, and other things, I chose to do Canva because I wanted to try canva for the water obstacle. First there are 3 groups and in the 3 groups there needs to be 2 people in the group. Then go through the big floats and go down the slide. After swim through the pillars and get the flags, then hop on to the boats and the driver of the boat will go if you say ‘drive 3 times’. Then hop off the boat and then get the flags on the pillar and start paddling to the finish place. You need to get all 6 red flags, and the life jackets are free. The prize is get a $50, or a warehouse or pak’save or kmart gift card. That is my water obstacle course, this is the age over 14 yr old, and the kids one has no boat with the driver it swaps with a floatable trampoline.

SLJ : Rainbow Fish – Kick Start

For this activity, I had to make my own rainbow fish. First, I read a book about the rainbow fish. Then, I went to Google Drawings and used some tools to create my fish. I looked at a picture of the rainbow fish to help me choose the right colors. After I colored my fish, I added a background and made it so you can’t see my drawing right away. Can you find my rainbow fish?

SLJ : Manu Splash – Kick Start

Today’s Step It Up was to create a Manu Animation, and I couldn’t take a picture on my camera because it didn’t show up what was i doing, So I decided to do a person doing a Manu. First I remove the background and put it on the slide and added the background it wasn’t showing so I changed the background the turquoise because it was matching with the ocean that I picked. Then, I started my Animation, in my thoughts, when i was doing it, i said in my mind it was going to be easy, so i continue doing the animation. During making the animation, I made bit of mistakes, then I fix what was wrong, it was wrong because, I forget to move the picture that was my mistake. Lastly I blogged it and then I added the badge of the Step It Up.

SLJ : Manu Splash – Kick Start

Today’s kick start activity. I was supposed to create a water splash image or put you face into the water bucket like in the main video. Since I was using my Chromebook and didn’t have anyone to splash, I chose to make a water splash image using Google Drawings. I found the activity a mix of easy and hard. It was frustrating at times because I had to delete and fix things, and sometimes I ended up deleting the wrong image. But overall, I enjoyed exploring Google Drawings and playing around with all its features.

SLJ : Seaside Maths Quest – Kick Start

Today, we had a super fun task! It was a special kind of scavenger hunt, but instead of searching around outside, we did it on Google Slides! I really enjoyed this task because it was a nice way to end the Summer Learning Journey. Can you believe it’s already the last week of the Summer Learning Journey? It feels so crazy that it’s almost over! Time flies when you’re having fun! Out of all the scavenger hunt activities, my favorite one was the challenge where we had to build something that formed a rectangle. I thought that was really cool and creative! It was exciting to come up with ideas and see how others built their rectangles too. Overall, this scavenger hunt was a great way to learn and have fun at the same time!

SLJ : Treasure Map – Step it Up

Yesterday’s Summer Learning Journey Step It Up was to make the treasure map old. I had to make my map look old. I wanted it to look like it had been used a lot and was torn. I watched a video to help me, and I needed something to help me make it look old. They suggested using a tea bag, but I didn’t have tea. So, I used coffee instead.I mixed the coffee with a bit of water to change its color. If I wanted it darker, I added more coffee. Then, I left it outside in the sun to dry. It was like magic – it changed color and got dry. Finally, I took the coffee and squished it with my hands to make it look wrinkly and old. It worked! My map looked like it had been passed down a long time ago.

SLJ : Pirate Treasure Map – Kick Start

SLJ : Submarine Fun – Kick Start

Summer Learning Journey

Today’s task was to make a submarine.
You are able to make it on a piece of paper or
You could make it on google drawing, I chose to do it on Goggle Drawings. First you have to open a google drawing and name it. Then you have to get creative and make your submarine!

Here are 3 facts about Submarine : A submarine is a special kind of ship that can go underwater. It helps us explore the ocean and hide from enemies. Submarines can dive really deep, sometimes over a thousand feet down, where the water pressure is very strong. Many countries use submarines for their navy to protect themselves, but scientists also use them to learn about sea animals and underwater plants.

SLJ : Shell Ebration – Step It Up

For this SLJ activity, I got to create my very own seashell museum using Google Slides! I picked four awesome shells: Scallop, Alternate, Gulf Oyster Drill, and Paua. First, I found pictures of each shell online and added them to my slides. Then, I wrote a fun fact about each shell and included where you can find them. If I couldn’t find a location, I described how to look for it instead. To make my presentation look even cooler, I changed the fonts too! The Task was awesome and amazing.

SLJ : Shell – ebration

Today, we had a fun task to create art with shells! If you had any real shells, you could use those, but I decided to use Google Drawings and found pictures of shells online. I made a happy teddy bear that loves warm hugs. To create my teddy, I used different shapes and images I found on Google. It was really cool to turn something as simple as shells into a cute piece of art!

Here is my work / a shell teddy bear.
